The Association for the Promotion of Solar Cookers (Förderverein für Solarkocher) was founded in 1998 by Eduard Probst, who has built and developed solar cookers (cook-box models) for the past 20 years.

With the help of this ingenious yet simple technology, the Association encourages the use of inexhaustible solar energy by deploying solar cookers in sun-rich but economically poor regions of the earth.

By this means the organisation makes a contribution towards improving the lives of the suffering population, towards preserving forests threatened by deforestation, and towards reducing CO2 emissions.
